Our sailboat is not tucked away in a marina on the outskirts: it is moored at Moll de Mestral in Port Olímpic, moorings 1539 and 1540, right in the centre of Barcelona. You set sail five minutes' walk from the metro and, the moment you clear the harbour mouth, the whole city is in front of you.

Why sail from Port Olímpic rather than anywhere else
Barcelona has several places to set sail from, but Port Olímpic has one advantage none of the others match: it is inside the city. No car needed, no trip to the outskirts. You come out of the metro, walk five minutes past the marina terraces and you are at the mooring.
It also changes what you see from the water. As you clear the harbour the two towers appear at once — the Hotel Arts and Torre Mapfre — along with Frank Gehry's golden fish, the Barceloneta and Nova Icària beaches, and the silhouette of Montjuïc behind them. Within minutes of sailing you have the entire seafront in view, from the Fòrum to the commercial port.
Built for the 1992 Olympic Games and renovated a few years ago, the marina has become one of the locals' favourite spots: pontoons lined with terraces, a sailing school and a proper harbour atmosphere at the water's edge. Arriving half an hour early for a drink before boarding is part of the plan.

All prices include VAT, a licensed professional skipper, fuel, departure and arrival mooring, the vessel's insurance and civil liability cover, and an aperitif and a drink for every guest. When sea and season allow, we stop offshore for anyone who fancies a swim. The reference duration is around 2 hours under sail.

Getting to the mooring, step by step

Get to Port OlímpicBy metro: line L4 to Ciutadella | Vila Olímpica, then a five-minute walk towards the sea. By car: the Port Olímpic car park (BSM), entrance on Carrer Marina. Several bus lines and the seafront cycle path also reach it.

Find Moll de MestralPort Olímpic has two main docks. Ours is Moll de Mestral, the side with the leisure moorings. Our sailboat occupies points 1539 and 1540.

Arrive 15 minutes earlyThe boat cannot delay departure, so allow some margin, especially in high season. When your booking is confirmed we send exact instructions for finding the mooring without getting lost.

Board and set sailThe skipper handles everything. All you need is comfortable clothes, sunglasses and, in summer, swimwear and a towel in case there is a swim stop.

No. Every trip sails with a licensed professional skipper who handles the boat from start to finish. You just enjoy it.
Can I charter the whole boat for a group? +
Yes. The private charter is the usual choice for families, birthdays and
hen and stag parties. For groups of up to 20 we sail with two boats together.
